Scuba Diving and PADI Dive Courses

Moalboal is famous for its coral covered drop-offs and steep wall diving. These walls are ideal for beginners and advanced divers, since the not so experienced divers prefer to stay shallow while the advanced diver might choose to go deeper to check out some sharks. Scuba diving activities start directly at the beach, the next wall dive is just 30 m from the shore. Even the shore dive is so close to the beach this is a point where lots of whale sharks are sighted, and mostly in shallow water!

The other dive spots, about 12 of them, are located nearby, usually not more than a 10-20 min boat ride away. All dive spots are wall dives and similar, great coral coverage, lots of turtles and lots of reef fish. Shark encounters are very likely in Pescador Island , the main dive destination. This small island is actually a pinnacle rising from the bottom of the Tanon Strait , out of a depth of 300m (1000 feet). For advanced divers only is Sunken Island , a shoal about 25m below the surface in the open sea with strong currents.
